Caleb's puppy diary. LOL Here he is at 5 weeks! :)

Another week...

and another puppy picture. Caleb is now 4 weeks old. We have 29 more days until we pick him up. :)



He really is getting SO big. And much darker. His face is so cute. I love the bandit eyes. heh

and quite a little fattie! So cute. Only 36 more days until I get to pick him up. :)

Our puppy is two weeks old now. I just received new pictures. Had to share!





HE IS SO SUPER CUTE! :)

PUPPY!!!!!

We are getting a puppy! That is, my son wants a puppy, so I am buying him one and I am going to train it for him. heh We've chosen an Australian Cattle Dog. Highly intelligent, easily trained, eager to please, clean, friendly, guard-dog worthy. Beautiful. So many reasons to want one. I contacted a breeder about a week ago and as luck would have it, she had one litter born on June 7th and another coming on June 9th! And even luckier yet, both litters are "blues" rather than "reds" and we happened to be looking for a blue ACD. After my deposit was received, I was sent 7 pictures of puppies that matched the markings description that I was looking for. We picked out a puppy last night and he's being reserved just for us. :) We drive down to Mize, MS in late July to pick him up. That's about a 15 hour drive from here, but I'd much rather pick our puppy up in person than have him crated and shipped on an airplane.

Our puppy was born on June 9, 2005 to Holly and Rock. Here's a picture of him taken on June 14, 2005:



We haven't really settled on a name yet. We've been tossing around the name Sam or Sampson, or even Samson. Then someone mentioned the name Caleb (meaning dog or faithful affection) and that's really grown on me. I might register the dog with AKC as well, so he'd need a Registered Name in addition to his Call Name. Any suggestions are welcome! We're looking for a name that is out of the ordinary. I'll post more pictures as I receive them. In a few months, he'll end up looking very similar to this pup:

I have finally gotten around to taking the house pictures off of my digital camera and putting them onto a PC. Sheesh. Well I've been kinda busy with the house, so that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

My New Profession

Since buying my own home last week, I've taken on a new profession as a painter. ;) The colors in the house were not to be lived with, so I'm painting every room. That is, except for the GREEN ROOM. That one belongs to my mom and she likes it green. Painting an entire house is a HUGE project that leaves you with many sore body parts the next day. Tomorrow is the Painting Party. When it's too much to do yourself, recruit family and friends. Right?

Not much new to say. Just preparing the house so we can move in. New appliances to be delivered on Monday, which is actually very exciting.

In non-house related news, we just bought tickets to see Tom Petty at Summerfest in Milwaukee this July. There's some other tours here and there, like RATT and L.A. Guns, but I have yet to see any dates that are in the area. :( Hopefully something will come along soon. Otherwise, it's going to be a very lame summer of sitting around the house doing house and yard work (hey, this paragraph just became house-related too. damn.)
