June 19, 1999

Happy Birthday to my brother.  :)  As if he'll ever read this. LOL... anyway, it's been a while since I've posted an update, so here goes nothing!  I must apologize, I have been so damn busy every weekend for the past three weeks, it's not even funny.  I went to see Poison/RATT/Great White/L.A. Guns in Milwaukee, WI on June 4th and then drove down to Evansville, IN on June 5th for another concert.  Both shows rocked fiercely.   LAG is putting on an excellent live show, even in the scorching heat on Saturday.   (They just wore less clothing... hehehe)  I did stay in my seat to watch Great White's set, but I've never been a huge fan of theirs.  However, the crowd sure was getting into it, so they must have been doing something right!  Jack Russell still has the same hair he did years ago... weird eh?  :)  Sitting sidestage with Tracii, I listened a little more carefully to RATT's set and was actually able to tell what songs they were playing. LOL (the set list being posted about 10 feet from me didn't hurt either!)  But they played alot of very cool songs actually.  And later that night, lounging on RATT's luxury tour bus with Tracii, we got a sneak preview of RATT's upcoming release and I'll tell you now, it is very good and I suggest you all go buy it when it's released (July 7th I believe).  Anywho, I was also sidestage for Poison's show.  Had a better angle on it this time.  We sat on Bobby's side of the stage.   During Rikki's and CC's solos, he came over and sat next to me on an equipment case.  That guy is a riot.  :)  Very sweet.  I was just like "omagod... bobby dall is sitting next to me..." LOL  First time I ever met him.  I met CC later that night too, and he's a funny (freaking hilarious) guy and all, but I didn't care much for his personality and attitude.  Tracii introduced me to the RATT guys that night too whom are all very friendly and hospitable.  Since curfew was like 11pm, the shows ended early and we all hung out for a few hours.  It rocked.  Definitely.  I've got three more shows on this tour:  Tinley Park, IL; Tampa, FL and West Palm Beach, FL.

Okay, how about a little Crue news before I go on about my Diner Junkies weekend?  The Crue is holding a poll on their little website that originally seemed like it was going to be a "fans vote for the songs that make the set list" type of thing, but since Motley is done rehearsing already (According to Sixx's words), I highly doubt that their set list is not already written in stone.   So if you want to go vote for the hell of it, go right ahead, but don't count on your favorite, most non-popular, Motley Crue song actually making the set list.   Nikki already gave me a big, fat NO to ON WITH THE SHOW.  :::pouts:::   Okay I'm over it.  ;)  So Crue is now in pre-production and their gear hits the road on Sunday to be followed by the band shortly thereafter to make sure everyone is pleased with their stage set up.  Nikki says the band is happy and that things are going smoothly and there is no drama.  He says they are excited to be playing songs like Red Hot, Teaser, All In The Name Of and Too Young To Fall In Love.   Motley is supposed to be hitting the studio late this year to put together a brand shiney new Motley Crue album that Sixx describes as "crunchy..its back to the mars -sixx one two punch".  Let's hope he speaketh the truth.  I've got myself some Crue coming my way on July 17th and 18th.  Here's to hoping the show is worth the $$ spent on it.  I'm looking forward to seeing Randy Castillo on drums.

Speaking of drums... Mr. Tommy Lee just scored himself a record deal with MCA Records and boy is he pumped.  He's working with a bunch of musicians I honestly don't care for, but I'm going to try to keep an open mind when listening to his new work because that's what friends do right? LOL... I'm trying, really.  :)  Tommy just rocks.  It's too bad he's not in the Crue anymore, but I still love him.  Life goes on. :)

Okay Diner Junkies... I attended two of their shows last weekend in Monticello, IN at Xcursions on Friday night and Stanton, MO at Rooo'sters on Saturday night.  I'd have to say that the Stanton show went better, but you need to keep in mind that they are playing 80% new material with two new people on guitar.   I really dig the new music that is going to be on Stone's Place.  It's so much harder than the Strange Girls album.  I think everyone is really going to dig it.   They also gave a new twist to alot of the old tunes, some that I didn't care for, but they still sound good.  It's just that you get used to a certain pace in a song and you know all the lyrics, then when it's changed, you can't sing along anymore! ACK!   Their CD should be out around the end of July and hopefully I will get them hooked up on a decent tour before then... if not, look for them in a club near you this fall.   :)

I just updated the Diner Junkies website the other day with some new pics, lyrics and fan club information... so go check it out at www.dinerjunkies.com and I'm currently in the process of completely redoing the L.A. Guns website, but in the mean time you can go check out the site that is there already at www.lagunsweb.com.   I've got big plans for that site and they are coming along very nicely.  :)   I can't wait to show the band once it's finished.  After I wrap up those two projects, I've got something new in mind for the Cruemunity.  I'll get to work on that then.  Until next time, go to as many damn rock shows as you can fit into your diet.  And have fun.  :)  ~Cherie

May 31, 1999

Happy Memorial Day Crueheads!  I'm bored out of my gourd, so I figured since I have so much time on my hands... here's an update!  :)

I went to see the first date on the Poison/RATT/Great White/L.A. Guns tour last Thursday in Rockford, IL.  I got there late and missed LAG's set.  :(  But finally found Tracii and got my tix/passes... actually one of my passes came from Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick!  :)   Very cool.  So, anyway, I also missed Great White's set because I was hanging outside waiting for Tracii to get his butt (or lack thereof) inside again... we went backstage and I met Rikki Rockett, very nice guy, but didn't get to chat with him long.   We watched RATT and Poison's sets from the side of the stage.  Interesting view, but I don't think you fully get to enjoy the show that way.  Poison has a TON of energy still on stage. WOW!  And they all look fantastic!  They played a lot of their hits and did a damn good job keeping the crowd entertained!  I didn't hang out after the show to meet them, but I've got two more shows this coming weekend.  So hopefully I will get to see LAG and Great White play and I'll have a fuller report.   :)

I also drove down to Urbana, IL on Friday night to see L.A. Guns do a club show.  I had a really good time too.  They only played one new song off of Shrinking Violet (Girl You Turn Me On) and then Tracii pretty much took it from there. LOL... it was a riot.  But they did a lot of good tunes.   Well worth the drive down there.  Of course, Tracii knows I'd do anything for him. LOL  :)  If you have not heard Shrinking Violet yet, get your butt to your nearest music store or go to www.perrisrecords.com and buy it now!  Worth every penny you'll spend on it.  If there's any album that is going to get L.A. Guns back into the mainstream, it will be this CD and LAG's current lineup!

Slaughter's new CD, Back to Reality is due to hit the stores in the month of June.  More specifically on June 29, 1999.  Slaughter will be kicking off their tour early by doing various solo shows starting in the New York area on June 15th.  Then they will hit the road with the Rock Never Stops tour on June 30th.  You can hear songs off the upcoming release at www.slaughterweb.com, so get over there and check it out!

Hair of the Dog is still shopping their CD, RISE, around the music industry at this time.  They are looking to put together a tour for the summer, toting along Never 7 as an opener.  I'll post more information on HOTD as I obtain it.

Diner Junkies are still in the studio wrapping up their latest creation, Stone's Place.  You can pre-order the CD off of their website, www.dinerjnkies.com.  There are a few Midwest tour dates listed and more will be posted as they come in.  So check back often.

I can't think of anything else new going on off the top of my head... there's alot of great tours out there this year to sink your teeth into, so make sure you get out of the house and to the show!  I updated the tour dates pages for Diner Junkies, Motley Crue, L.A. Guns and Slaughter.  On a final note, keep an eye on www.lagunsweb.com for changes in the near future... I hear they've got a new webmaster while they are on tour.  ;)   <grin>

Tommy posted today on the new ACLU Motley Crue message board.  He really explained his feelings and why he's done this.  And ya know, I actually can understand where he's coming from.  Doesn't make me any less sad, but makes me proud of him for what he's doing because it took great courage to leave behind 18 years of your life to move on into something new.  Here's his post:

First, thanks for all your personal notes, business advise, and predictions. Some of your notes were very positive and supportive. Some of them were very critical. All of them got me thinking.   Some of you think I'm going to do great. Some of you think I'm going to crash and burn. I learned a lot of things in the last year. One of them is that predictions generally say more about the one who's talking then they say about the one who's being talked about. I'll try to stay positive.

There were some good notes and some that were painful and hard to read. For example, one note said, "You're only a drummer. You're not a family man."  That really got me thinking. Yeah, I'm a drummer. And I've worked hard (and played hard) and I've been lucky enough to enjoy a lot of success at that. But I'm not "only a drummer." I'm lots of other things.  I'm more than what gets seen through the mean, green, one-eyed monster publicity machine.

The simple truth is I am a family man. Sitting in jail last year for those many months, I realized just how much of a family man I really am.  I missed my wife and I missed my sons.  I'm a husband to an exciting and beautiful woman. I'm a father to two incredibly beautiful boys. I'm also a son to my own Mom and Dad. I write about being a father and also being a son at the same time, in one of the songs on my new CD.

I'm also a brother to my sister, who's also a drummer and a wife and a mother. So I'm also an Uncle to her kids. I'm a friend to a few people. Sometimes we get along, sometimes we
don't. There are times when friendships can be hard. I'm sure as I work at it I'll get More than "only a drummer" I'm a musician. I also play keyboard and guitar and I write songs. Nikki and I wrote almost all the songs on the Motley Crue CD's.

Sometimes, even though I try not to, I have to be a businessman. Music is a pretty crazy business. It can keep you guessing and wishing and regretting a lot, if you don't make good decisions. Like you, I'm a consumer and a fan. I buy lots of CD's by other musicians. I listen to just about everything from Rock to Rap; from Opera to Enigma. I enjoy it all and learn from it all.

I'm still a student. My personal coach reminds me that I still have a lot to learn about a lot of things.  My decision to leave the band was not a rash, spur of the moment shot in the dark. That decision has been building inside me for the last three years.  For the last couple of years I've felt a musical growth, a strong spiritual force pushing me in new musical directions that were not possible to explore with the band, as we were. I felt exciting new musical sounds in my heart. It can be hard to get three other guys in a band to share the new vision of one of them.

Something else happened in the last three years. I became a husband again and I fulfilled a life-long dream by becoming a dad.  One fan wrote that "old rockers shouldn't try to act too young — it's tacky." I agree. Nikki is also a dedicated husband and a father and we used to have long talks about what that meant to our lives and our futures. We knew we had to start thinking and doing things a little differently. We knew we had other people depending on us and we had to think differently about the future.

I was lucky in a strange way. A chain of bad events pulled me away from my new family of Pamela and my sons and from my old family of 18 years — the other band members of Motley Crue. I was forced off the hard charging life style.  Suddenly all the fast motion and all the loud noise came to a dead stop.  I had only the screaming silence of four cold stone walls, broken only by the metallic clang of heavy doors opened by guards who told me where to go and who I could talk to.

Sitting in jail gave me the rare and frightening opportunity to be alone with my thoughts and fears and regrets and my hopes for the future. It gave me a chance to take a careful look at the many business and financial webs that had been woven around Motley Crue. Were all those business deals really the best possible deals for me and the other guys in the band? Did those deals allow for us to change and grow as musicians? Did they help us to create a better future? Could I continue to be "only a rock drummer" and still create a new life with Pamela and my sons?

I didn't make any rash decisions about the band. I got out of jail and got right back on tour and back into the music. You fans were fantastic, with all your support.  Still, certain wheels were put in motion. My life had changed. I came closer than anyone should to losing it all — my family, my music, everything. Believe me when I say that last year absolutely change my life.  Motley Crue was a great band. We did some really good music. Fans will enjoy our music for a long time to come. And there's something about the Crue's music that probably should not change.  If everything with the Motley Crue and all the business deals were all good and could be made to work for a new future, I would have stayed with the band.  The harsh truth is that sometimes you just can't force old patterns into new directions. Sometimes you have to stop what you're doing in order to change directions. And that's what I felt I needed to do with my life. I needed to change directions because I didn't want to end up where I was headed with the old directions.

We all change. Life is all about change. Just about the only things on the planet that don't change are yesterday's newspapers and rocks.  If you're alive, if you're above ground, you're lucky and you're changing. We all like to think we're changing for the better.

It's time for me to put some serious energy into being a good family man, a good husband, and a good dad to my boys.  It's also time to expand myself as a musician. I always was a little more than "just a drummer" and now I want to work at being even more than I was. I'm working on my own CD. It'll be out in September. I'm exploring some new musical directions on the CD. I'm exploring new voices for rhythm and lyrics and sounds. The CD holds a lot of what I've learned in the last year. I think it also carries the hope for a better
future for me and my family. I hope you, the audience, likes what you hear.

Thanks again for all your support.

Hey everybody!   Nikki FINALLY answered the questions with Metal Sludge!  And let me tell you, they are freaking hilarious.  You've gotta go check them out!  Here's the link: Metal Sludge  There's also a preview of some of the new tunes that will be on the re-released albums this summer.  I believe they are going to be listed at motley.com in the near future.  If you're on the motley mailing list then you already know about these.  I have yet to go check them out...

Sixx posted today that their new "summer drummer" will be Randy Castillo whom he says is an old friend.  I have no idea if he will be a permanent replacement or if Nikki will keep looking.  I'll keep ya posted.

May 1, 1999

Sixx finally issues a statement on the AOL Motley Crue Message Board:

Im sorry this has had to happen to you **the fans**.i dont understand it myself completly. this isnt something we had control over...as you all know...im doing a solo side band album ,have a clothing company, have my own label and produce many new bands and have a family and wife and other coals in the fire..and i can still give 100% to motley crue.i love t bone. but i love motley crue too much to give up what weve been fighting for.(( and finally winning))...i really believe he just needs some time to himself to explore.i know he will be missed.. by us too.

I don't think anyone imagined this day would come.  The day when Tommy Lee would leave Motley Crue.   Whether it be temporary or permanent, it's still a sad day in Crue's history.   I'm sure we all wish Tommy the best in reconciling his family life and getting his solo efforts off the ground... at least I know I do.  But he truly will be missed and there is no other that could ever replace him.  Matt Sorum (of G-n-R) is going to do his best though to take on that job this summer on the Maximum Rock tour with the Scorpions.  Some news articles dealing with this whole issue can be found in the scrapbook section.

Hey everybody, I realize it's probably ancient history by now, but some people still don't know about it. If you are anywhere near Cadott, Wisconsin... this may be of interest to you. Rockfest 1999 is being held there. A 4 day concert extravaganza. Check it out at http://rock-fest.com/artists.htm

Hair of the Dog News!! HOTD's new album will be entitled "Rise" and the following is the track listing: Rise, Hammered, Twice, The Almighty Strut, You Are The One, Five To Nine, I Can't Fight You, Color Me Fire, Mokur Jahoobees, Sometimes Is Enough, Rescue Me, I (KISS cover from The Elder album). There may also be an enhanced portion on the CD if time permits.

L.A. Guns now has their own domain for their official website run by Tracii Guns himself, with a little help from yours truly of course. :) Check it out at WWW.LAGUNSWEB.COM and don't forget to sign up for their mailing list also!  As soon as I get some dates for their tour, I'll get them posted.   However, do check the tour dates for Slaughter as I got the first batch of RNS dates up on the site.

There will be no tour this summer from Cinderella as Tom is stuck in a writing phase and just wants to complete that cycle. I'd rather have them put out a new album of fresh material and hit the road anyway. They may be touring by the end of this year.  But don't fret, there's plenty of other tours to keep you busy this summer.

Hey Crue Freaks!   I just started up a Cruemunity mailing list to keep everyone posted on the latest Motley news and updates to this website.  If you're interested in being a part of the list, sign up on the first page of the Cruemunity.  It is a one way mailing list, meaning only I can send out messages.  It is not a discussion list where people can send in messages to the list or reply to any message I send out.  I think that just clutters mail boxes and I want this to be an informative experience, not a nuisance.

March 29, 1999

Let's see if we can get an update in before the end of the month.  :)  Nikki wrote me back and said that "co-headlining" with the Scorpions this summer does not mean that they will alternate nights, it just means that each band will have the same length set.  Also, Buckcherry will no longer be on the bill as they are scheduled to partake in Ozzfest this summer.

Slaughter is currently in the studio recording their next album, the first with new guitarist, Jeff Blando.  Check out SLAUGHTERWEB.COM for a live WebCam from the Studio!  The current line up for the Rock Never Stops tour is Ted Nugent, Night Ranger, Quiet Riot and Slaughter.  The tour is set to kick off in May.

Also slated to kick off in May... May 29th to be more precise is the formerly titled "Exiled From The Mainstream" tour which consists of POISON, L.A. GUNS, RATT and GREAT WHITE.   Damn!  What a lineup!  I am psyched for this tour.  I'm working on getting more details about it and will keep you posted.

Cinderella will not be touring this spring.  Instead they opted to record a new album.  I am pretty sure we'll find them on the road come summer time.

Hair of the Dog just finished up the recording process on their latest creation.  It's mixing time now baby!   They will hopefully be hitting the road later this spring.  Rumor has it, if you liked the first HOTD album, you are absolutely going to love this one!

Diner Junkies are currently recording their next album with new guitarist, Christian.  They are looking for an early June release and hope to be on the road by the mid-May.

Did I miss anybody or are there any bands you'd like for me to get info on?  Let me know.  I've got like a dozen-something email addresses and can be reached just about anywhere.  ~Cherie

March 25, 1999
Nikki posted today on AOL's Motley Message Board.  They are in Vancouver right now having a day off.   I'd assume a much deserved day off.  This leg of the tour is just about over.   He was more specific about what albums would be released and when:  TFFL, Shout, Theatre and Girls will be released in June.  Dr. Feelgood, MC94 and Swine are to be released in July.  There will also be an extra one released in July called LEFTOVERS and it will include tons of unreleased "goodies" as he put it.   After this leg of the tour is over, they have 2 months off to work on putting together the production for the upcoming summer tour with the Scorpions.  He says it's very BIG!  Personally, I can't wait. :)  That's it for now peeps... I'll keep ya posted.

March 19, 1999

Nikki was kind enough to answer a few questions for me so I'd have some Crue news for everyone. :)   First of all, it is confirmed that the Scorpions are co-headlining with Motley Crue this summer.  There will be another band opening called Buck Cherry, but there's more to come.  The set list will be longer than the hour & a half currently being played and they will be doing different songs than this tour.  The tour will last for three months.  As soon as I get some dates, I'll post them for you.

Motley Crue is re-releasing every album, but Decade of Decadence, for the Millenium series.  When asked how many extra tracks will be on each album, Nikki responded "as many as we can find".   The first four will be released in June and the rest in July.  They will all be available in a box set, along with a live CD from the Greatest Hits tour, due out November of 99.

1958 is due to be released by the end of this summer, no definite date yet.  Nikki also couldn't disclose the track listing yet, but did say that there's a new song on it called *the ballad of billy bang*.   LAIDLAW just finished up their first album (aside from the Moonshine demo released last year) and has tour plans with Lynard Skynard.  There are other bands in the works to be signed on Americoma Records.  I'll keep ya posted when I get more information.  Lastly, when I asked him if there was anything else he was up to that he wanted people to know about, he responded with "i shower. . . . .but not alot".  Funny guy. :)~

March 16, 1999

Hey All!  Sorry to have been gone for so long offline.. I know it was only a week, but UGH, it felt like much longer than that.  The last Crue show in Merriville, IN was okay.  I had pretty good seats considering they were in the 22nd row.  Had a clear view of the stage anyhow.  The show was pretty much the same except for a few highlights... Nikki invited two fans up on stage to watch the show because they had the Toast of the Town/Stick To Your Guns 45 single.  And also at the point where Nikki was going to smash his bass, this fan jumps up on stage, grabs it from him and beats the hell out of it.  Nikki grabbed the helmet that Vince was wearing for Anarchy, he put it on and ducked down as this crazed fan was swinging the bass by the neck with a piece of the body hanging by a string.  LMFAO...  I thought for sure that thing was gonna fly off into space.  Tommy jumped out into the crowd armed with a fire extinguisher, in search of titties.  Other than that, nothing too special happened.  The sound wasn't all that hot and Sixx was having some serious problems with his cordless unit.   He wasn't even playing at times throughout the show... the backing tracks were.   We hung out at the hotel all day before the show and saw Chris sneak Vince and the two dancers out and then back in.  No big excitement though.

I should have a Crue update for ya by this weekend.  <fingers crossed>  PEACE.

March 6, 1999

I've got one last Motley Crue show tomorrow.  Last night in Champaign, IL rocked the house!  Not sure if it was sold out or not, but they put on a damn good show.  Nikki trashed a bass, throwing it completely across both sides of the stage and into the lighting fixtures above him.  They still didn't play "On with the show" for me! LOL... I'll have a Motley update for you in the near future... news concerning the Millenium series package and also this summer's tour!

On the L.A. Guns front... they have been added to a kick ass tour package to start up May 31, 1999.  LAG will be joining Poison, RATT and Great White for a 6 week tour.  Check back soon for tour dates.  Cinderella will not be joining this tour as originally proposed.  They plan to get into the studio and record a new album for Sony Records.  Look for Cinderella to hit the road once summer rolls around.

Slaughter, who is currently in the studio recording a new album, will be touring with Damn Yankees, Night Ranger and Quiet Riot.  So far noone else has been added to the bill.  The tour is slated to begin in June.  Look for dates to be posted within the next few weeks!  I'll have some more Slaughter info for you in a few weeks also.  STAY TUNED

MOTLEY CRUE - DAYTON, OHIO - FEBRUARY 26, 1999

Welcome to a completely sold out Crue show! There were people everywhere. The venue was not very large... I can’t estimate the capacity of the place. But it was definitely full to the brim with wild Crueheads. Would you believe that they ran out of beer before Crue even hit the stage??

I had 12th row for this show, but thanks to lenient security guys, I was allowed to be front row on Nikki’s side of the stage. They opened with Dr. Feelgood, just like last year, with Vince in his white coat. For the next tune, GirlsX3, they brought out these two female strippers or whatever they were supposed to be. They were wearing cheezy costumes and couldn’t dance worth a squat. But hey, that’s just my opinion. I’m sure the men in the crowd have another opinion. The two girls were also out during Looks That Kill, Shout 97, and Same Ol’ Situation.

Crue cut a few songs from their set list. They added a guitar solo by Mick. Nikki did a little solo and let the freaks in the front row play his bass. Tommy did his lil rehearsed speech about being in jail and MAD LOVE and all that jazz, then he sprayed the crowd with fire extinguishers and of course tried to get the chicks to show him a lil somethin, something. ;) The two stripper girls came back out in even worse costumes than before and also sprayed the crowd and later in the show they used squirt guns. Also, during one of Nikki’s lil speeches to the crowd, this insane Cruehead jumped up on stage, hugged Nikki about 2 or 3 times, high-fived Vince and Tommy, got a drumstick from Tommy and then was escorted politely off of the stage. Mick must have ran and hid. I didn’t see him.

During Shout ’97, the two chicks did another little act. One dressed as a nun and the other as a catholic school girl. I won’t get into what they were doing. It was lewd to say the least. And it only got worse as the show progressed. I think they really need to can the chicks.

Only one encore was heard, and that was Anarchy. The music sounded great. The guys were entertaining. They chilled out a bit on the lights this time. Maybe too many people got blinded last year. :) And they still did the two confetti cannons.

AFTER THE SHOW... me and a few friends of mine were invited to a private party back at the hotel in the restaurant/bar that was on the roof. Nikki, Tommy and Vince were present. I think Mick was in his coffin back in his room. We all hung out until about 1:30 that night. It was really cool. Amazing what down to earth people these guys are. You’d never know it from their online personalities. Everybody had a really great time. There was only about 25 people present. Elevators had to be locked down to keep people from sneaking up. The guys took time to chat with everyone and take pictures and sign autographs. I was in complete bassist heaven all night and can now die a happy woman. :) Two more Crue shows this week. If anything differs from this last show, I’ll write up another review.

A SAD DAY IN MUSIC.   Today I found out that Johnny Crypt quit L.A. Guns on Saturday, February 6, 1999.   I am heartbroken.  He's such a good friend and an awesome musician and fit so well into the band.  He's loved by so many people.  I'm at such a loss for words.  Here's the two issues of Electronic Gypsy for those who don't subscribe.   Johnny... I love you sweetie.  Good luck to you in whatever you do and many people will FOREVER be here for you.  ::::huggs::::

Well Tommy went to Court today and here's the scoop for those who don't already know.  Sounds like a bunch of BS if you ask me.  :)~

Due to a missing probation report, a municipal judge Wednesday postponed issuing a ruling until March 8 on whether the rock musician violated probation  “Mr. Lee, you have to understand here that I’ve made no determination as to whether there was a violation of probation,” Malibu Municipal Court Judge Lawrence Mira said.  “The probation department just simply dropped the ball, and at this point there’s nothing I can do,” the judge said.
The agency was supposed to have investigated by Wednesday news reports that Lee had been drinking with his band mates.  Mira said the district attorney’s preliminary investigation, which involved telephone conferences with key witnesses, indicated the news reports were unfounded. Any finding that Lee had been drinking could put the rocker behind bars for three years.
Lee arrived in court Wednesday with another new hairstyle and refused to speak with reporters. His spokesman, Allan Mayer, told reporters that his client is clean.   “Tommy has absolutely been in compliance with all the terms of his probation,” he said.
Absent from Wednesday’s hearing was Lee’s ex-wife Pamela Anderson Lee.  It was her injuries at the hands of Lee that sent him to jail.

Wow... another new hair-do?   What could he possibly have done with it now?  And um, I think they meant that Pamela's injuries were at the FOOT of Lee that sent him to jail.  GOOD GRIEF... damn reporters.  <grin>

January 24, 1999

Hey Motley Freaks!   I know alot of media rumors have been going around about our dear Tommy Lee.   And I realize he is scheduled to appear in Court on February 4th, but really... what evidence is there?  The man is NOT going to jail.  There is absolutely nothing to worry about.  I chatted with Crue's personal body guard and their tour manager.  Two people who spent every single day on the road with Tommy last year and both have said that Tommy did absolutely nothing that would violate his probation and send him back to jail.  WHY WORRY?  I'm not.

There are some new tour dates for Crue listed on the site.  Not a whole helluva lot of them, but hey, at least I've got two more Crue shows in my near future.  :)~  Can't think of anything else new on the Motley front.  PEACE OUT.

January 17, 1999

WOW... so much for updating the website early in the new year. LOL.  I posted the current Crue tour dates.  Just click on Tour Info in the frame below.  There is not a current opening band for this leg of the tour.  I can only imagine that Sixx must have realized how awful LAIDLAW was.  :)  <grin>  They are however keeping the "Kickstart Your Career" contest going... so listen to your local radio stations when the Crue comes to town!  Also, the S'Crue store that was open in L.A. is going out of business and moving to www.motley.com with all it's merchandise.  Nikki is now accepting email at MOTELSIXX@aol.com again.  So feel free to email him with your thoughts.  And now on to other updates....

The Diner Junkies are currently off the road and writing new music for their next release.  We're still having the contest at www.dinerjunkies.com for those of you who'd like a chance to name a tune on the DJ's next album.  They will hopefully be back on tour real soon after this break.

L.A. Guns is currently off tour also and putting together a new album.  The original line up is also getting together to release an album of remakes and a few new tunes.  So keep an eye out for that.  They will be hitting the road with the Rock Never Stops tour again this year with Slaughter.  I will try to find out what other bands will be on that bill.   I think it's going to be one helluva tour.  Rumor has it that Poison is going to hit the road starting on Memorial Day.  That should be interesting.  :)   I also heard rumor that Cinderella and RATT will be touring this summer... nothing confirmed as of yet.

That's about it for now.   I'm going to try and get a page of live pics from the 1998 Crue show in Milwaukee, WI done within the next week.  I'll keep ya posted.  ROCK N ROLL AIN'T DEAD BABY!
